Happy Holidays Indeed!!!!

I have been a very bad blogger!

We have been insanely busy and getting busier. I will explain more after the holidays I promise. Every time I sit down to blog or do anything other than check my e mail, my body feels the motionless wonderment and begs me to go to bed.

Here is my pathetic attempt of getting our holiday card online!

We Wish Everyone A Joyous Holiday Season & A Peaceful New Year!

The time will come

I have this poem on the front of my refrigerator. I read it every day and something about it fills me with confidence and gives me the "I can conquer the world!" feeling.

I just wanted to share it just in case it might do the same for some of you.

THE TIME WILL COME

The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door,
in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say,
sit here.
Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine.
Give bread.
Give back your heart to itself,
to the stranger
who has loved you all your life,
whom you ignored for another,
who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit.
Feast on your life.

Puffs Plus Please

Remember when you were little and getting really embarrassed, or teased? You can feel your face getting red, your ears get really hot, your eyes well up with tears but you try to move your eyeballs around so no one notices? You sit there awkwardly and look down at your hands and quietly pray for the time to pass? You try not to look at the person who has hurt your feelings. Maybe they didn't know they did. Maybe they didn't realize that their words stung, but you can hear it playing in your head over and over and over again. You look up at the basketball game on TV, playing in the corner of the restaurant pretending there is nothing more interesting in the world? You feel out of place and ask yourself why your sitting there to begin with?

Sometimes I hate being so damn sensitive.

The upside to this is that once I get home and I hear the door click shut behind me? I can cry. And all the snot and the sobbing and the ugly crying that happens? I have someone there to give me a tissue and pour me some juice.

I have someone who lets me let it all out, all the time.

That to me is worth a hurt feeling or two.

Conversations

"Can you push my toes?"

"Huh?"

"My toes are cramping and I need you to bend them toward me."

"What?"

"PUSH MY TOES!"

"Like this?"

"NOOO You have to hold my foot up while you do it."

"To quote your little bloggy thing... I'll do it, but I don't like it."

"Shush up and push"
